"God doesn't have a mission for God's church, God has a church for God's mission." - A. Hirsch
Salvation army Ellwood City Unit
The Salvation Army Ellwood City Unit is a volunteer-led unit, blessing out neighbors by helping with electric / gas / water bills, rent assistance, as well as clothing and grocery vouchers. On August 25th there will be a BACK-TO-SCHOOL GIVEAWAY at the Hope Festival (524 Lawrence Ave. Ellwood City, 10am-5pm). Call or text the Salvation Army Ellwood City at 724-691-8012
YMCA Meal Program at Walnut Ridge
During the Summer (June 13 - August 15) Bell blesses small neighbors by serving a hot meal on a Wednesday night. We meet at 4:30pm at the Walnut Ridge Community Center. We also get to know the kids better, make crafts, and clean up by 6pm.
Compassion International / Taylor Aparicio
Bell sponsors Taylor Ortega De Jesus Aparicio. Born on March 27 2013, Taylor lives in Columbia. The Bell kids and teens write Taylor letters and get updates on him regularly. Bell has been sponsoring Taylor since April of 2016.
RUMMAGE SALE / Spring 2019
The rummage sale provides clothing and goods to the community at minimal cost, and is a connecting point for our neighbors, the borough, and the people of Bell Church.
Greet & Treat / trick or treat night 2018
Greet and treat provides candy for kids and a respite for parents busy going from house to house. The most neighborhood friendly night of the year, Halloween night gives Bell Church the opportunity to really get to know our neighbors.
Holy Redeemer Social Services
We support our local food bank, the Holy Redeemer Social Services Collection bin in the foyer. The first Thursday of the month, HRSS invites volunteers to stock and organize the food pantry.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Samaritan's Purse provides gift boxes for children nationally and internationally for Christmas. Bell Church is one of many churches that purchase fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to fill the shoeboxes. Some items, like toothpaste and candy in 2017, violate customs regulations. Bell Church collects items for shoeboxes or packed shoeboxes October 8 through November 12.
The garden produce supplies the Holy Redeemer Social Services food bank. Mio Morris tends Bell's two garden beds. The beds themselves were made by Doug Schroth.
